# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • They require zero oven time, so you can have a week's worth of snacks ready faster than scrolling through your phone.
  • The ginger and turmeric combination hits differently when you use fresh root instead of ground spices, creating this warm, almost electric tingle that wakes you up.
  • They genuinely taste like you're treating yourself, not like you're being virtuous.
02 -
  • Fresh ginger and turmeric are not interchangeable with ground versions, the flavor difference is real and worth the extra effort of grating.
  • If your mixture feels too crumbly, it's almost always because you need just a touch more binding agent like almond butter or a splash of maple syrup, not more grinding.
03 -
  • If you have a microplane or box grater, fresh ginger and turmeric are worth grating yourself because the flavor difference justifies the thirty seconds of effort.
  • Let your food processor do the work instead of over-mixing by hand, which can sometimes make the texture too dense and dense isn't what we're going for here.
